Characters with minds
NPCs carry bios, stats, outfits, cloned voices, and relationship graphs. Theory of mind stays strict: they only know what they should know.
AI webtoon RPG engine
FableForge is an infinite, emergent webtoon RPG. Characters remember what happened, chase their own goals, and argue about you behind your back — while the story draws itself panel by panel around your choices.
Most games ship a script. FableForge ships a forge: factions, relationships, locations, memories, and voiced dialogue grow from the world you seed — then keep evolving as you play.
NPCs carry bios, stats, outfits, cloned voices, and relationship graphs. Theory of mind stays strict: they only know what they should know.
Nested locations from city to room, blueprinted and painted by AI. Walk the map; the world fills in as you need it.
Dialogue scrolls with portraits and mood. Story panels appear as the turn unfolds. Your session is a comic that remembers.
One turn at a time — speech, silence, or pure narration. The engine keeps the comic moving.
“Not a branching script with AI flavor text — a cast that can surprise you because it was never fully written.”Core promise · local-first · fully yours to remix
Same FableForge build — local silicon when you have it, cloud when you don’t. Power users can point at their own OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
Full fidelity: your models, your voices, your privacy. The launcher will handle Tabby, Fooocus, Chatterbox, and the recommended model pack so you never hand-install a stack of tools.
No beefy GPU? Use a single OpenRouter key for language, images, and speech. Great for trying the engine or playing on lighter hardware.
Fair warning: FableForge is under active development. Expect rough edges, rapid iteration, and the occasional beautiful accident. That’s the forge.
What we optimize for — and what we refuse to fake.
Choices ripple into memory, goals, stats, images, and plot. You can accelerate the story, derail it, or simply survive it.
If a cast member doesn’t know something, they don’t know it. Emergence only works if the simulation is honest.
Prefer running on your hardware. Swap characters, locations, prompts, entire games. Community remix is the point.
We ship what works, fix what breaks, and document the plan. No vaporware checklist dressed as a product.
A short, honest snapshot — not a marketing timeline.
Conversation loop, panels, voiced dialogue, locations, memories, faction blueprints, full cast materialization with relationships — building and polishing in earnest.
One Windows download from this site → GitHub Releases. First-run wizard (local / cloud), model pack download, health checks, quiet service start, safe updates that never wipe your games.
Smoother cloud adapters, community sharing tools, character & plot creators, and maybe Steam once install is boringly reliable.
Public download isn’t live yet. When it is, you’ll grab a small installer here (and from GitHub Releases) — not a forty-gig zip pretending to be a website.
